Nation Media Group has effected changes in its editorial setup to help implement its digital transformation to adapt to changing media world.

NMG Group Editorial Director Mutuma Mathiu has appointed digital editor Churchill Otieno as the Head of Development and Learning. 

Otieno is tasked with executing the group’s digital expansion strategy through the group’s newly launched converged site, Nation.Africa.

Washington Gikunju was moved from Managing Editor of The East African to Head of News and her will formulate an integrated news process, implement Group Editorial Policy and Guidelines.

Saturday Nation Editor Wayua Muli was named Lead, New Ventures, Vera Okeyo Diversity and Inclusion Editor and former Editorial Manager Catherine Wanyama named Co-ordinator of Quality Desk. 

Kudrat Sehgal will nowr be the Lead, Product Innovation while Lynette Mukami has bee appointed the Engagement Editor.

Bernard Mwinzi remains the Managing Editor for weekend editions and John Kamau moves from Head of Content to Projects Managing Editor.

Similarly, veteran Ugandan journalist Daniel Kalinaki becomes Africa Editor as well as the Managing Editor of The East African

John Kiplagat will head Production and Sunday Nation Assistant Editor Leonard Guchu becomes Political and Parliamentary Affairs Editor. 

Alex Ndegwa has been named the Enterprise Editor, Kenfrey Kiberenge fills the new Community Editor post and Daily Nation Assistant Editor Harry Misiko has been named Growth Editor.
