The Ministry of Health announced that 98 more people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the country in the last 24 hours.

According to the ministry, 62 more people recovered from the novel virus even as two others died from the infection. 

The Monday figures saw the viral load in Kenya rise to 37,079, as the number of recoveries also increased to 23,949 while fatalities went up to 650.

The 98 new infections were detected from 1,644 samples tested in the last 24 hours, which saw the total number of samples tested in the country since March 13 to 518,350.

The new infections included 96 Kenyans and two foreign nationals with 63 being male and 35 females. 

According to MoH, the oldest person infected was aged 75 and the youngest nine.

According to Health CAS, Dr Aman, Nairobi recorded 32 coronavirus cases, Mombasa 20, Meru and Uasin Gishu 8 each, Kiambu 5, while Kisumu, Migori and Machakos recorded four each.

Similarly, Elgeyo Marakwet, Taita Taveta, Murang'a and Kilifi counties reported two new Covid-19 cases each as Garissa, Embu, Kwale, Nakuru and Samburu recorded one each.
