State House and Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) are among areas whose water supply will be interrupted in Nairobi County for a day starting Wednesday morning.

Nairobi Water and Sewerage Company says supply to Kilimani, City Mortuary, Nairobi hospital, Coptic hospital, Riruta, Kawangware, Dagoretti Corner and Ngando will also be affected.

Others who will have to look for alternative water supply are residents of Kileleshwa, Lavington, Kibera, Forces Memorial Hospital, KEMRI, Kenyatta Market and those living along Gitanga road.

Water to areas along Langata road, University of Nairobi main campus, Parklands Campus, Chiromo Campus, Westlands, Parklands, Mountain View and Kangemi will also be interrupted.

According to Nairobi Water, the interruption of water supply to the particular areas of Nairobi County will specifically affect customers who are served by water from Kabete Water Works.

The company announced that the dry taps will start being experienced on Wednesday 6am to Thursday 6am and this is to facilitate upgrading of Uthiru Pumps and Dagoretti Pumps suctions.

Nairobi Water said the pumping station located in Kabete Water Works will be upgraded to pump an extra 25,000 cubic meters of water to Karen, Riruta, Satellite, Uthiru and Kawangware.

The Kabete pumping station is meant to produce an extra 42 million litres of water from the current 30 million litres of water daily once the upgrading project is completed.

A pumping station with a capacity of 500,000 litres is also being erected at Kenya High School.
