The price of Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene will remain the same as last month.

This is according to the latest review by the Energy & Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) released on Saturday that will be in force until February 14, 2023.

"In accordance with Section 101(y) of the Petroleum Act 2019 and Legal Notice No.192 of 2022, the Energy & Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has calculated the maximum retail prices of petroleum products which will be in force from 15th January 2022 to 14th February 2023," the statement read.

"In the period under review, the maximum allowed petroleum pump prices for Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene remain unchanged."

The prices are inclusive of the 8 per cent Value Added Tax (VAT) in line with the provisions of the Finance Act 2018, the Tax Laws (Amendment) Act 2020 and the revised rates for excise duty adjusted for inflation as per Legal Notice No. 194 of 2020.

This means the January revision will see the pump price of Super Petrol go remain at Sh177.30 a litre in Nairobi, while Diesel will retail at Sh162 per litre and Kerosene at Sh145.94 each litre.

This has come as a slight relief to Kenyans who expected the prices to come down significantly, as they are still grappling with hard economic times and are also faced with January obligations.
