The president said it was time for the purposed placement of environmental conservation in the nation’s social-economic transformation agenda.

“This is the time for intentional placement of environmental conservation at the centre of our socio-economic transformation agenda,” Ruto said.

Ruto further affirmed the country will achieve a cleaner and safer environment for everyone through unity of purpose and collective action.

“Through our unity of purpose and collective action, we will have a cleaner and safer environment for everyone,” the president said.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua who was also present at the event said the earth is a common heritage and for history not to judge us harshly, there was a need to bequeath it to the future generation in a better condition than we found it.

He appealed to Kenyans to get involved in the earth's conservation, especially by planting trees.

“I call upon every Kenyan to make an effort, especially in growing trees, to reclaim our motherland and make the earth, our common home, a better place to live in,” Gachagua said.

First Lady Rachel Ruto, Kajiado Governor Joseph Ole Lenku, diplomats and other leaders flanked the president during the project’s launch.

During the launching ceremony, Ruto led the other leaders and members of the public in planting trees to support the project.
