The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has released the names of its nominees to the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA).

ODM announced the names in a statement released via its social media accounts on Wednesday.

"The ODM Selection Committee presided by DPL Wycliffe Oparanya met yesterday & nominated the following for election to EALA," ODM said.

The following is the list of nominees the ODM Selection Committee settled on:

Suleiman Shahbal- Mombasa 

Mohammed Diriye- Wajir

Winnie Odinga- Nairobi               

Timothy Bosire- Nyamira

Beatrice Askul- Turkana

Justus Kizito- Kakamega

Shahbal who was an aspirant in the Mombasa gubernatorial contest and stepped down in favour of Governor Abdulswamad Nassir took to his social media to express his gratitude to the party and its leadership.

"I take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the ODM Party and my party leader Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga for nominating me for election to the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA)," Shahbal said.

"My sincere appreciation also goes out to the ODM Selection Committee for finding me fit and forwarding my name for consideration in the fifth session of the noble August House."

"I look forward to the support of both members of the National Assembly and the Senate as I pray to get a chance to contribute towards the economic transformation of the East African Region and make progressive and competitive strides toward negotiations with the rest of the world," he added.
