President William Ruto’s Cabinet Secretary nominee for Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs Salim Mvurya has disclosed that he is worth Sh120 million.

Mvurya revealed that on Saturday when he was being vetted by the National Assembly's Committee on Appointments for the position.

According to Mvurya his millions come from parcels of land he owns, houses, bank accounts and vehicles.

"My financial net worth my chairman Sh120 million in land, houses, bank accounts," Mvurya said.

"No vehicles?" Speaker Moses Wetangula interjected.

"Vehicles also," Mvurya answered.

He also revealed that by 2013, he was worth about 10 million.

So far, Mvurya is ranked among the least wealthy Cabinet Secretary nominees only coming before Aisha Jumwa who said she is worth Sh100 million.

Ruto’s nominee for the Prime Cabinet Secretary’s position Musalia Mudavadi is ranked highest in that index at Sh4 billion.

Mvurya is a former Kwale Governor who served for ten years from 2013 to 2022.
