Employees of the troubled AAR Hospital along Kiambu Road are not out of the woods yet.

Swala Nyeti has learnt that the entire Marketing and Customer Care departments have also been sent packing.

Incidentally, also axed in the recent layoff is the PA to the Chief Executive Officer who sent the redundancy letters and has been immediately replaced by the Quality Assurance personnel Mildred Wasike.

According to sources privy to the establishment, the entire department was fired because one of them was suspected of leaking information about the developments to the media.

“Apparently, the department was fired because someone leaked to the media,” the source said.

This has brought more tension at the health facility whose staff are still coming to terms with the recent layoff as they balance on a tightrope anxious about an uncertain future.

The hospital opened its doors to patients on July 19, 2021, has been fighting revenue challenges and started issuing redundancy letters to junior and senior staff on Wednesday.

That came after the health facility failed to achieve its financial projections and therefore could not meet its obligations such as paying salaries to its staff.

Over 20 junior employees in various departments were rendered redundant on Friday and some senior employees, including the Heads of the Marketing Department, Information Technology and Procurement.
