The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has launched an investigation into a video showing a rogue matatu driver brazenly threatening another motorist with a machete.

In the dashcam video by Twitter user @Malik_88, a matatu belonging to LBO Travellers LTD sacco is seen trying to railroad the recording motorist from the right to access a PSV stage.

However, the motorist refuses to give way angering the matatu driver and his conductor, who can be seen in the video fingering the motorist menacingly though the matatu window.

It is at this moment that the irate matatu driver screeches to a halt in the middle of the road oblivious of other road users, alights wielding a machete and comes towards the motorist.

An attempt by passenger who was sitting beside the driver to stop him from attacking the motorist in a private car does nothing to stop him as he proceeds lifting up his weapon.

The video ends as matatu driver disappears to the private vehicle driver’s window and it remains unclear what he did exactly while away from the coverage of the said dashcam.

Due to the viral video, NTSA asked Malik, the private motorist, to share details of the matatu to pave way for a probe and subsequent action to be taken over the act that has caused outrage.
