President William Ruto has officially submitted his list of cabinet nominees to parliament for vetting.

The National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula communicated Ruto’s list of cabinet nominees to the National Assembly on Thursday.

The house now has 28 days to conclude the vetting process of the nominees.

However, the Committee on Appointments has not yet been formed, and the speaker explained it is because the House Business Committee has not yet been formed either.

“As you are aware the Committee on Appointments is yet to be constituted, this has been occasioned by the fact that the House Business Committee is yet to be formed,” Wetangula said.

The House Business Committee nominates members who will sit in the Committee on Appointment.

Late last month, Ruto unveiled the names of Cabinet Secretaries he has appointed to his cabinet.
