Actor and wrestler Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has endorsed Democratic Party’s presidential ticket of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris ahead of the hotly contested US presidential election.

Johnson said Biden was “the best choice to lead our country”.

In a message posted on his Twitter and Instagram pages on Sunday, the highest grossing actor said this was the first time he was making a public presidential endorsement.

The Rock also shared a video of his discussion with Biden and Harris, in which he asked them various question about how their administration would look like.

At one point he asks Biden and Harris how they would help America earn back her respect.

“By keeping our word. By levelling with the American people. By taking responsibility … That sounds so basic, but the American people are strong, they’re tough. They can take anything if you level with them and tell the truth,” responded Biden.

“Truth can sometimes be really difficult to hear and for that reason sometimes people don’t speak it. But you cannot have trust if you don’t speak the truth,” Harris added.
