Cliff Onchiri, the Transline Classic employee who captured himself on a TikTok video celebrating the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition Raila Odinga’s failure to clinch the country’s presidency for the fifth time, has apologised.

Onchiri took to the same platform to offer a video apology to the members of the public and affirmed his actions did not reflect the company’s views.

“My name is Cliff Onchiri. I want to apologise for the video that is trending on social media. I recorded that video out of my stupidity while donning my work uniform and I did it as an individual, not as Transline,” Onchiri said.

Onchiri apologised to the bus company’s customers especially those that supported the Raila-led Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition.

“But I would like to apologise for our customers, especially the Azimio supporters. I did not intend to hurt anyone so I’m very much sorry for what happened. May you find a place in your heart to forgive me,” Onchiri apologised.

Onchiri’s apology comes after an uproar from members of the public who came across the video and threatened to boycott services offered by Transline Classic.

The irate people also demanded action to be taken against Onchiri.

Transline Classic offered an apology through its issued statement and said it would look into the matter.
