Transline Classic has addressed the viral video that captured one of their employees celebrating the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition Raila Odinga’s failure to clinch the country’s presidency for the fifth time.

In the statement, Trasline Classic acknowledged the video clip and noted their employee who captured himself in the amateur video.

The bus company distanced itself from the video clip and stated categorically that the casual employee identified as Cliff Onchiri’s views do not represent the company in any way.

In the controversial video, Onchiri is seen running around and mocking Raila.

"Get up! Get up! he has been trounced again," Onchiri said.

“Our attention has been drawn by a video clip going round the social media done by Cliff Onchiri a casual worker based at Afya centre offices,” the statement read in part.

“As a company we wish to disassociate ourselves from that clip and state that it was done by the individual's will and does not in any way represent the views of the company.”

The company further disclosed that it has taken disciplinary action against Onchiri and apologised to its customers for the video clip it termed as offending.

Transline Classic further said it is a business that is not into politics.

“Disciplinary measures have been taken on the individual,” Transline said.

“We apologize to everybody especially to our valued customers for the offending clip.”

“As a company we are in business and not in politics,” the company clarified.

The company’s statement came following an uproar from a section of Kenyans who felt the Onchiri’s conduct was inappropriate and threatened to boycott Transline Classic if action is not taken.
