President-elect William Ruto has disclosed that he telephoned his boss, President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Ruto shared the details of their telephone conversation on Wednesday via his social media accounts.

According to the president-elect, the two discussed the recent general election and matters surrounding the transition process.

"I had a telephone conversation with my boss, President Uhuru Kenyatta. We discussed the just concluded General Election and the transition as envisaged by our democratic tradition and practice," Ruto said.

Ruto on Monday had hinted in his speech shortly after the Supreme Court upheld his victory in the August 9, 2022, presidential election that he would call Uhuru after months.

"I’ll shortly be making a call to my good friend Uhuru Kenyatta. I haven’t talked to him in months but shortly I’ll ring a call to him on the process of transition," Ruto said.

Uhuru and Ruto enjoyed a close relationship as leaders of this country before a serious fall out happened between them and they could no longer see eye to eye.
