The Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition deputy leader Martha Karua has responded to the Supreme Court's ruling on the Presidential Election Petition in which the seven-judge bench upheld the victory of President-elect William Ruto.

Karua took to her Twitter account to express her opinion on the judgement by the seven Supreme Court judges.

“The court has spoken. I respect but disagree with the findings,” Karua said.

The Supreme Court ruled that President-elect William Ruto was duly elected.

"As a consequence. We declare the election of the fast respondent as president-elect to be valid under article 143 of the Constitution," the court ruled.

Azimio leader, Raila Odinga and Karua moved to the High Court to challenge Ruto's win in the August election, accusing the Independent Electoral Commission of conducting a bogus election.
