The Roots Party led by the controversial George Wajackoyah has appointed Vinod Ramji as the new Deputy Party leader.

This follows a recent public spat between Wajackoyah and Justina over claims that she was misrepresenting Roots Party’s stand, making the party suffer public ridicule and disrepute and also making irresponsible utterances.

The party also announced the appointment of Naran Velji Arjan as its CEO and Janet Akinyi Odhiambo as Deputy National Chairperson.

"We refer to the aforementioned matter following a resolution by Roots Party National Executive Committee in a meeting held at the party head office, we confirm the appointment of new party officials," the Roots Party announced.

According to the Roots Party, the changes come after as part of the resolutions from the National Executive Committee meeting, which was held in its office in Karen.

Earlier on, Justina was summoned before the Roots Party disciplinary committee, a summons she first said she would not honour terming that as pettiness.

“I will not respond to pettiness. But on the NON EXISTENT accommodation and car, you IMAGINED you ‘assisted’ me with you can withdraw in your DREAMS. It is your party. Do what you deem fit, I will soldier on,” Justina said.

However, Justina changed her tune and said she would attend the disciplinary meeting after all because she was obliged as a loyal party member and a Kenyan patriot.

Days later, Justina arrived at the Party’s headquarters with her supporters but was blocked from accessing the premises by armed security personnel.

According to Wajackoyah, Wamae was not supposed to be accompanied by any person.
