Detectives are on a serious manhunt for a police officer in connection to the death of a man he found in a compromising situation with his wife.

According to the police report, the General Service Unit officer had left Lokichogio, Turkana, where he is based to spend his leave at home in TInderet, Nandi County on August 22, 2022.

On arrival at his house, the GSU officer found his wife and the man identified as Henry Cheruiyot enjoying themselves before an altercation ensued.

It seems things escalated into a full-blown fight in a jiffy and the GSU officer is believed to have descended on Henry with a barrage of blows and kicks and left him for dead before fleeing.

Passers-by found the deceased lying unconscious by the roadside at Nduruto Village in Tindered and rushed him to Miteitei Sub-county Hospital for emergency treatment.

On reaching the hospital, Henry’s condition worsened, prompting the hospital to refer him to Nandi County Referral Hospital for specialised treatment where, unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment.

Detectives conducted a search in the suspect’s house and recovered Henry’s blue t-shirt, a hood and blood-stained inner wear that had been stashed away in a sack.

Henry’s body was moved to Nandi County Referral Hospital Mortuary where it lies pending an autopsy.
