The Azimio la Umoja Executive Director Raphael Tuju has hinted they have enough evidence that will help the Supreme Court with the nullification of the disputed presidential election results made on Monday by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairman Wafula Chebukati.

According to Tuju, the coalition has gathered watertight evidence right from the printing of the ballot paper, voting, tallying, and technology used all the way to the announcement of the results.

While speaking during an interview with a local radio station, Tuju expressed his confidence in the Supreme Court overturning the presidential election results that led to the declaration that Kenya Kwanza Alliance leader William Ruto won.

"We have watertight evidence compared to that we had in 2017, and we trust that the Supreme court will overturn the results that saw William Ruto declared the winner of the presidential elections," Tuju said.

Tuju said they were yet to file a petition in court but would do the same during the weekend as he emphasised the IEBC oversaw a flawed process.

"We shall move to court this weekend to seek legal redress, for we know the IEBC oversaw the polls in a skewed manner. Our prayer was to go for a re-run, but the IEBC chose to opt for irregularities that saw Chebukati declare Ruto as the President-elect," Tuju said.

He said he was sure the Supreme Court will rule in their favour noting the dissenting IEBC officials led by the commission’s vice chairperson Juliana Cherera have evidence that would make their case more solid.
