The Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition presidential candidate Raila Odinga has intimated that he will include the Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi in his government if he is elected.

Raila was speaking in Vihiga County during a campaign trail in the western region.

He said Mudavadi was like a son to him and promised to include him in his administration if he becomes president.

“He is my son. If we go to the government, I will ask him to come,” Raila said.

The former prime minister hinted that he is interested in forming a government with Mudavadi as an insider.

Raila said he tried to appeal to Mudavadi to join his side but he became afraid and got pulled away to his opponent, William Ruto’s side.

“This time, I asked him to come to this side. However, he has grown cold feet and was pulled away to the other side,” Raila said.

Mudavadi and Raila were principals of the National Super Alliance (NASA) alongside Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula during the last general election before falling out.

Mudavadi decamped to the DP Ruto-led Kenya Kwanza Alliance in early January.
