High Court has found three Administration Police (AP) officers and an informer guilty of murdering lawyer Willie Kimani, his client Josephat Mwenda and driver Joseph Muiruri in 2016.

The court found officers; Sergeant Fredrick Ole Leliman, Stephen Cheburet and Sylvia Wanjiku, alongside Peter Ngugi guilty of the three murders in Mavoko, Machakos County.

Justice Jessie Lessit, who delivered the ruling at Milimani Law Court on Thursday, however, acquitted the fourth accused person, Sergeant Leonard Mwangi, of all charges.

Justice Lesiit was issuing the long awaited judgment in a case in which four police officers and an informer had been accused of killing the human rights lawyer, his client and driver.

The four– Sylvia, Fredrick, Stephen, Leonard and Peter– had denied murdering Kimani, Mwenda and Muiruri on the night of June 23, 2016 when they were arraigned in Machakos.
