The Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition presidential candidate Raila Odinga lauded his running mate Martha Karua during the deputy presidential candidates’ debate on Tuesday.

Raila took to his Twitter account to congratulate his running mate with doting praises.

He noted Karua’s mastery of the subject and composure throughout the debate.

"Your poise, mastery of subject matters, and staying calm even when provoked were impressive. I congratulate my able deputy and team member @MarthaKarua," he wrote.

Raila also expressed the Azimio coalition’s pride in Karua’s performance during the Tuesday debate and urged her to continue selling Azimio.

“The Azimio family stands proud of your performance during last night's debate,” he said.

Karua took part in the deputy presidential debate against her opponent in the Kenya Kwanza Alliance Rigathi Gachagua on the second tier.

Earlier on, Justina Wamae of the Roots Party took on the Agano Party’s Ruth Mutua in the first tier of the debate.

The presidential debate is expected to take place on Tuesday when Roots party presidential candidate will face the Agano Party’s Waihiga Mwaure in the first tire while Azimio’s Raila Odinga will duel it out with Kenya Kwanza’s William Ruto.
