A boda boda operator is lucky to be alive following an incident in which he nearly lost his life after a man whose daughter he had just dropped at her home in Syokimau shot at him.

The boda boda operator identified as Wycliffe Atendo who works in the online boda boda hailing industry dropped a client at White House Estate just like any other after picking her up from a pharmacy along Kimathi Street in Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD).

Just when Atendo was dropping off his client and waiting to be paid for the trip, an irate man suddenly appeared from the gate and descended on his client and beat her up thoroughly before ushering her into the compound.

While Atendo stood there mesmerised at the event that was unfolding before him, the man suddenly discharged his weapon and fired a shot at him, which narrowly missed him.

The boda boda rider scampered for safety and escaped from the scene and went to report the incident to Syokimau Police Station.

The officers from Syokimau Police Station responded promptly and went to the man’s home where they established the man was a military doctor who was armed.

He was immediately arrested and handed over to the military police for further action according to military discipline.

The police officers also confiscated his firearm.
