Police have arrested a class eight pupil on suspicion of killing a pregnant woman and her two children in Kilgoris, Narok County.

The suspect committed the heinous crimes on Saturday when he attacked the six-month pregnant woman.

West Sub-County Police Commander Hamisi Ganzallah confirmed the incident, saying the suspect reported to police on Saturday that unknown assailants attacked him on his way home.

However, the police officers on duty noticed inconsistencies in his statement and probed him further.

While he was taking the police to the alleged scene of the crime where he had ‘been attacked’, they came across a group of neighbours who were rescuing a pregnant woman who has been viciously attacked by a machete.

The officers helped rush the woman to Kilgoris Mission Hospital from where she was later transferred to Narok County Referral Hospital.

Unfortunately, the woman succumbed to her injuries while receiving treatment on Sunday.

According to Ganzallah, police recovered the two bodies of the woman’s sons aged 5 and 10 in a garden near the suspect's home when they visited the suspect’s home.

“At the suspect’s homestead, police found bodies of the 2 boys who had been killed and it was established that they were the pregnant woman’s sons,” Ganzallah said.

When pressed further during the interrogation, the boy confessed to killing the pregnant woman and her two sons.

The three bodies of the deceased were moved to Kilgoris Mission Hospital Mortuary.
