A pastor accused of defiling his two underage daughters and impregnating them was on Tuesday arraigned in Baricho, Kirinyaga County. 

John Gichira Gichini, 52, admitted to the two charges of incest and has been remanded until January 7 for the prosecution get his daughters’ birth certificates to ascertain their ages.

Gichini was arrested on Sunday after being flushed out of his hideout in Mbeere South and taken to Sagana Police Station and locked up for questioning over the defilement allegations.

According to Kirinyaga West Deputy Commissioner Moses Ivuto, police officers managed to trace the suspect after relatives of the two victims reported the matter to police.

According to reports, one of the clergyman’s daughters had already given birth while the other had three months before delivering and that he had warned them against reporting his deeds.
