Roots Party presidential candidate George Wajackoyah has come out to claim there was a Sh200 million offer for him to drop step down from his State House bid.

Wajackoyah said that while speaking to revellers at Paris Lounge in Roysambu.

According to a video that has since gone viral, Wajackoyah said people who were afraid of his growing popularity just a month before the August general election offered him the money.

“Recently they came to my place and said that this Wajackoya, why don’t we just pay him Sh200 million so that he can drop his bid,” Wajackoyah claimed.

The controversial political allegedly turned down the offer, saying he could not be compromised, nor could he betray his supporters.

“I looked at them and told them that I am the most learned man in Africa and I cannot be compromised. I have worked in higher places like the United Kingdom and I cannot betray the trust of the people,” Wajackoyah said.

However, Wajackoyah did not disclose the names of the politicians who approached him or their political faction.

Wajackoyah could also be heard in the viral video vowing to marshal his supporters to vote out William Ruto and Raila Odinga in the August election.

He blamed the two for the current mess the country is experiencing, characterised by the high cost of living and joblessness.
