Embattled Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja has urged the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) tribunal to pay no attention to complaints filed against him in connection to his academic certificates.

While responding to the complaint, Sakaja he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Management degree from the Team University in Uganda.

One Dennis Gakuu Wahome sued Sakaja allegedly for not having the requisite academic qualifications to contest in the Nairobi gubernatorial race.

However, the UDA Nairobi gubernatorial candidate said the university is in Uganda and further said it is duly recognised in the Republic of Uganda.

Sakaja maintained that his academic credentials and qualifications were affirmed lawfully and therefore cannot be doubted.

“My qualifications and academic credentials are not in doubt having affirmed through a lawful process,” Sakaja said.

Sakaja also denounced the name mentioned in the complaint against him, saying he was not Johnson Koskei Sakaja and termed the complaints as being legally incompetent and fatally defective.

“The complaints herein are legally incompetent, fatally defective having been lodged outside the prescribed statutory timeliness,” Sakaja said.

The senator asked the IEBC tribunal to dismiss Wahome’s complaint against him and dismissed the allegations as unfounded.

Sakaja alleged there were other pages of the graduation list in which name and graduation credentials appeared but were omitted.
