Controversial Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri has advised his constituents to vote for whoever they deem fit for any elective seat in the August election.
While speaking to members of the press, the two-time Bahati MP said nobody should force Nakuru residents to vote in a particular pattern.
“For the top seat, we will vote for ‘Baba’ but when it comes to the MCA’s seat, MP’s seat, Senator’s seat and the Governor’s seat, we will vote for whoever we want. Let us do our politics here, and elect the governor, MPs, Senator and MCAs we want,” Ngunjiri said.
Ngunjiri who was reacting to a social media quip aimed at him over his recent fallout with a section of UDA politicians from the region said he was at liberty to associate with whomever he pleased.

He was addressing his critics who were opposed to his move to associate with Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui.
"This nonsense that if I am seen together with Governor Lee it’s a fight. I am not married by anybody, I’m married by one wife and the rest of the people have no business in my private life," Ngunjiri protested.
“When I am spotted with Governor Lee it is a problem…I am a national leader, peacemaker of Nakuru County.”
Ngunjiri’s stand seems to ruffle feathers of UDA diehards who have been rooting for the six-piece voting pattern during the August election.
The bickering was ignited during the UDA primaries in Nakuru when Ngunjiri accused Nakuru Gubernatorial aspirant Susan Kihika of destroying the party from within.
Ngunjiri said Kihika’s actions made many UDA supporters decamp and contest as independent candidates.
He further said Kihika was not really campaigning for Deputy President William Ruto but was merely advancing her own interests.
"Who defends the DP more than me here in Nakuru? They are just looking for their votes without campaigning for Ruto. The DP stated that I was the head of the party in the county. Some claim to know more than me yet they came here yesterday. I am an elder," Ngunjiri said.
The rivalry was compounded on Madaraka Day when Ngunjiri made a remark that seem to support Kinyanjui at Kiamania Primary School grounds.
On that occasion too, Ngunjiri asked residents of Nakuru to vote wisely and not get intimidated by the party bigwigs to vote for people they do not want in the name of six-piece.
Apparently, Kihika was not amused by the remarks and took to her social media to issue a rebuttal.
Kihika urged Nakuru residents to vote Ngunjiri out in the forthcoming election.
"What did the MP for Bahati say today? If things are like that, I want to ask the people of Bahati to do the necessary. Is there any problem with that? Let them go home," Kihika said.
