Justice Mohammed Ibrahim was on Tuesday elected as the Supreme Court of Kenya representative to the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).

Justice Ibrahim was elected unopposed during the exercise conducted by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

IEBC Returning Officer Abdidahir Maalim Abdi confirmed that the Supreme Court Justice was the only person who stood validly nominated for election for the significant position.

Justice Ibrahim now replaces Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu, who has completed her term in the said office.

DCJ Mwilu was elected unopposed on May 3, 2017 as the Supreme Court representative to the JSC to serve for a period of five years.

The Lady Justice replaced Supreme Court Judge Dr Smokin Wanjala whose term ended in 2016.
