Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja has said he will never abuse Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition presidential candidate Raila Odinga or say anything bad about President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Sakaja said that while speaking during an interview at a local radio station on Wednesday.

The Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant said he has no issue with Raila and perceives him as his father.

Sakaja noted the role Raila has played in making Kenya what it is, is indelible and has immense respect for that.

He also revealed that Raila is the only leader who attended his son’s birthday.

"Raila Amollo Odinga is like a father to me. Of all leaders, Raila Odinga is the only one who has come to my home for my son's birthday. His role in Kenya's history cannot be erased. I respect them,” Sakaja said.

Sakaja also said he respects Uhuru who believed in him and remembered how he picked him from the late, retired President Mwai Kibaki’s team and together they started the TNA party in which he was the chairperson.

He expressed his gratitude to the president for his consideration.

"I respect President Uhuru Kenyatta. He picked me from President Mwai Kibaki's team, we started TNA where I was chairman at the age of 26. He believed in me and I thank him,” the senator said.

Sakaja emphasised he has no issue with anybody and is merely selling his political agenda.

He vowed he will never abuse Raila nor say anything disparaging against Uhuru but preach clean politics.

"I have no issue with anybody, but I'm selling my agenda. You will never hear me abusing Raila Odinga or saying anything bad about Uhuru Kenyatta. I'm preaching clean politics," he said.

Sakaja, who is a member of the Kenya Kwanza Alliance is seeking to replace the incumbent Nairobi Governor Anne Kananu after the August election.

He will face his strongest opponent Polycarp Igathe from Azimio Coalition on the ballot.
