Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has asked his troops to cease making their fervent demands that he must be the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition running mate in the August election.

Kalonzo was speaking in Masinga, Machakos County on Tuesday during the funeral of the Masinga parliamentary aspirant David Mutuku’s father where he asked his troops to stop the debate of what he will become and leave it all to God and remain confident.

“Stop the debate on what Kalonzo will become. Leave that to God and be confident. There is a way you can make noise until it creates the impression that we lack confidence,” Kalonzo said.

The Azimio party set up a panel to interview for its running mate and Kalonzo had indicated that he would not be attending the interviews because he believes he is more qualified and his qualifications should not be weighed against any other candidate.

Wiper party Members of Parliament also protested the move saying they will not allow him to attend the interview as they argued that no interview was done in the two times Kalonzo deputised Raila.

The Makueni Member of Parliament Daniel Maanzo threatened that if Kalonzo is not picked as the Azimio flag-bearer’s running mate, then Raila should forget about Wiper party followers’ support.

“Let Raila forget about the Kamba nation vote if Kalonzo is not named as his running mate. No Kalonzo, no Raila!” Maanzao said.
