The Azimio la Umoja One Kenya presidential candidate Raila Odinga has concluded his trip to the US and is expected back into the country.

Raila cut his US trip short in order to come back to the country to attend the burial of the late, retired President Mwai Kibaki.

While in the US, Raila held meetings with officials of the US government and a section of Kenyans in the diaspora.

He pledged that his government will wage a war against graft if he is elected the 5th president of Kenya.

Raila shared his roadmap to economic recovery and the creation of job opportunities within his first 100 days in office.

“We’re going to introduce a social protection fund for the very poor in our country. They will be getting a cash transfer that will enable families to be able to lead decent lives,” Raila said.

Raila also noted the levels of taxation, yet the net is so small. He opined that if the net is increased, and the level is taxation is lowered, then more taxes will be collected.

“Levels of taxation are a little bit too high, and the net is so small. So our view is that if you broaden the net, and you lower the level (of taxation), you’ll be able to collect more,” he said.

The former Prime Minister is expected to jet in on Friday.
