Four notorious drug traffickers were arrested on Wednesday at Likoni Ferry in Mombasa County.

The four suspects named Swaleh Mgoshi, Juma Mgoshi, Ali Mwakileo, and Zachariah Mwakisuwa were arrested while ferrying a substance suspected to be heroin.

Detectives from the Transnational and Organised Crimes unit (TOCU) acting on a tipoff that was received through the anonymous ‘Fichua kwa DCI’ toll-free hotline arrested the four suspected drug traffickers.

The suspects were taken into custody at a Mombasa police station pending investigation before being arraigned in court.

Samples of the substance were flown to Nairobi for analysis at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) National Forensic Laboratory.
