Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate Raila Odinga has promised Kenyans tremendous change in his first 100 days in office.

Raila was speaking at a rally in Navakholo, Kakamega on Sunday where he said he affirmed his determination to bring a wave of economic relief to every Kenyan after taking leadership of the country.

The former premier asked the people to call him to account for his first 100 days in office.

“From that day Baba will swear on the bible, the first 100 days of Baba’s government, you will ask me… 'what have you done?' You will see tremendous change and we will have started a new trend for this country,” Raila said.

Raila also promised that his administration will wedge a war on corruption and said it is the greatest enemy of this nation.

“Our greatest enemy, graft, we will confront it face to face. We will not joke about it. We will bury corruption so that everyone will receive what they rightfully sweat for,” Raila added.

The ODM leader reprimanded his Kenya Kwanza opponents, led by Deputy President William Ruto, for hoodwinking Kenyans to make them vote for him in the August general election by offering fake promises.

Raila said the Kenya Kwanza politicians had a history of unfilled promises, therefore, should not teach him about political promises.

His critics have rubbished his Sh6,000 monthly stipend to youth as impractical. One of Raila’s campaign pledges is rolling out a direct cash transfer program to benefit households that are poor.

Raila took a swipe at Ruto and dubbed him the master of promises because he promised laptops to school children and stadia around the country but never delivered.

“Bottom-up is rubbish they are using to lie to you. They do not understand matter do to with the economy. In 2013, they lied that within the first 6 months every child will have a laptop. They also said they will build stadia for football in every county… he is just a master of promises,” Raila said.

Raila’s Sunday campaign trail saw him hold meetings with residents of Shibuye, Shinyalu, Khayega, Malinya, Musoli and Navakholo.

This weekend, Raila was in the vote-rich Western region to drum support for Azimio la Umoja and popularise his presidential bid.
