The former President of the United States of America Barack Obama has tested positive for Coronavirus.

Obama shared the news about the results of his PCR tests via his Twitter account on Sunday.

“I just tested positive for COVID. I’ve had a scratchy throat for a couple days, but am feeling fine otherwise. Michelle and I are grateful to be vaccinated and boosted, and she has tested negative,” Obama tweeted.

Obama encouraged people to get vaccinated even as the infection cases are decreasing.

“It’s a reminder to get vaccinated if you haven’t already, even as cases go down,” he added.

According to a source close to the Obamas, Obama tested positive in Washington DC, just a few days after returning from a trip to Hawaii.

This makes Obama the second US president to contract the virus after Donald Trump who announced he tested positive for Coronavirus in October 2020.
