A video showing youth in Meru jeering Senator Mithika Linturi and chanting pro-Azimio slogans has gone viral.

Linturi was addressing a gathering in Meru when he tried to sell Kenya Kwanza to the people who responded in a way he least expected.

The youth urged him to join Raila Odinga’s Azimio la Umoja movement.

In the video, the senator is seen struggling to speak to the crowd that clearly had their minds set to express their disapproval of his venture.

Linturi was forced to cut his speech short and let the wishes of the people prevail as he stopped with his address.

During the same event, Linturi declared his interest in the Meru gubernatorial seat.

He is looking to replace the current governor Kiraitu Murungi on a UDA ticket.
