Residents of Bungoma County were treated to another spectacle in which two men jumped on a helicopter, taking off and hung on it at Kaspokwony Boys High School.

The helicopter had carried a section of Kenya Kwanza affiliated politicians, including Moses Wetangula, Oscar Sudi, Cleophas Malala and Kalasinga Majimbo.

The party was headed to a rally in Kimilili after attending the burial of the former Mount Elgon MP John Serut on Saturday.

The pilot of the helicopter had to turn around and get back on the ground to allow the two ‘stowaways’ to disembark before proceeding.

Residents of the area gathered to witness the events unfolding and once the two jumped off the helicopter, police officers based at Kapsokwony Police Station pounced on them and arrested them after dispersing the crowd.

However, after their arrest, the duo was later released.

This is the second time such an incident happened in Bungoma.

The first once occurred in 2016 and involved one Sale Wanjala who hung on a helicopter that was ferrying the body of the late businessman Jacob Juma.

Wanjala is now deceased following an illness.
