The former Member of Parliament for South Mugirango and treasurer for UDA party Omingo Magara has resigned and ditched the party.

Omingo resigned just a few hours after his boss Deputy President William Ruto left the country for a 10-day tour in the US and UK.

This comes after he denied some rumours that went viral across social media that he had quit and was headed to Azimio

He said UDA could not satisfy his future and ambition therefore he had to resign.

“My political future and ambitions cannot be sufficiently addressed by the UDA party. I therefore immediately resign as a party member and as a treasurer,” Omingo said.

Omingo also said his decision to quit UDA was informed by the prevalent voice of the people.

"This has been such a heavy decision to make, as we must always allow the voice of the people we seek to lead to prevail over and above our personal ambitions," he said.

His resignation comes shortly after Kisii gubernatorial aspirant Rachael Otundo ditched the party, citing frustrations.

Omingo appealed to the public to remain united regardless of politics to allow the nation to welcome the golden age.

"Let us be vigilant for politics comes and goes but we as a people and as a nation, must remain united to allow us usher in the golden age of our republic," Omingo said.
