Deputy President William Ruto’s Head of International Relations Ababu Namwamba has announced Ruto will embark on a ten-day visit to the United States of America and the United Kingdom.

According to the press release by Namwamba, Ruto’s visit will be to honour invites by senior government officials and top policy institutes in Washington, DC and London.

“Dr. Ruto is honoring invites by senior government officials and top policy institutes in Washington, DC and London,” the statement read.

During his visit to the US, Ruto is scheduled to meet officials of the State Department, Pentagon and the US National Security Council (NSC) Advisor after which he will meet with Kenyans living in the US.

While in the UK, Ruto is scheduled to meet UK government officials, visit the National Counter-Terrorism Center and speak at both the Commonwealth Secretariat and the Royal Institute of International Affairs.

The statement further says Ruto’s trip seeks to strengthen ties with Kenya’s traditional friends and partners.

“The Deputy President's trip seeks to further strengthen ties with the country's traditional friends and partners,” the statement read in part.
