President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee Party has rejected National Youth Suspect scandal suspect Anne Ngirita only moments after she defected to the party on Tuesday.

In a statement, Jubilee said Ngirita must first be cleared by the anti graft body EACC, Directorate of CXriminal Invesrtigations (DCI) and Kenya Revenue Authorioty (KRA) before seeking the party ticket in the August 9 poll.

The tough decision by the ruling party came only hours after Ngirita announced that she had defected from William Ruto's UDA on Tuesday.

Ngirita said ODM leader Raila Odinga’s appeal to individuals who defected from Azimio La Umoja to return home through its affiliate parties informed her decision to defect.

She had also said that she joined Jubilee because she felt like a prodigal child.

“Yes I was in UDA but I exited the party. This is because Raila urged those who had defected from his party to return home and I felt like the prodigal child,” Ngirita said.

She claimed she had moved to UDA out of peer pressure and declared her interest in the Nakuru Woman Representative seat.

"Moving to UDA was out of peer pressure. Hence, I will vie for the Nakuru Woman Representative seat,” Ngirita said.

In the September 2015 multi-million-shilling NYS corruption scandal, Ngirita was accused of receiving at least Sh59 million with the case against her still pending in court.
