The National Police Service (NPS) has denounced a purported announcement of recruitment of police constables that went viral across social media.

NPS took to its official social media handles to warn the public about the fake announcement in circulation.

“NPS wishes to remind the public that the purported announcement is FAKE and should be treated as a SCAM,” NPS tweeted.

They dismissed the announcement as a scam orchestrated by fraudsters and conmen who are out to defraud unsuspecting Kenyans through such scams.

“Fraudsters and conmen prey on unsuspecting Kenyans so defraud them through such scams,” NPS said.

The police further advised the public that they do not make such announcements through online publications rather the mainstream media and their official websites.

“NPS recruitment announcements are done through mainstream media and NOT through online publications. In addition, the NPS and NPSC websites shall carry such an announcement when made,” NPS said.

“Further, all police stations and commands shall be notified of same, and the public can verify such information easily.”

NPS cautioned the public against online and other related scams.
