Disgruntled members of the public heckled FORD-Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula while addressing a Kenya Kwanza rally in Trans Nzoia on Wednesday.

Wetangula who at the time was trying to campaign to root for Kiminini Member of Parliament Chris Wamalwa who will vie for Tranz Nzoia’s gubernatorial seat.

The Bungoma senator was jeered and heckled by the crowd, which chanted pro-George Natembeya slogans right in front of UDA leader, Deputy President William Ruto, ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and other leaders allied to Kenya Kwanza Alliance who were present at the rally.

"Chris must go! Chris Must Go! Chris Must Go!" the crowd chanted.

Wetangula’s speech was brought to a halt and his efforts to calm down the agitated young bore no fruits as they continued chanting.

The senator only got to proceed with his speech when he dropped the contentious Wamalwa subject

Wamalwa is preparing to vie for the Trans Nzoia gubernatorial seat under the Kenya Kwanza Alliance banner.

His main competition is the former Rift Valley Regional Commissioner George Natembeya who walked away from public service to run for governor on the Democratic Alliance Party of Kenya (DAP-K) ticket, which is allied to Raila Odinga-led Azimio la Umoja.

DAP-K is jostling for control of the ‘mulembe’ community with FORD-Kenya and ANC and is gaining ground fast.
