A Taita Taveta Member of County Assembly Nobert Chanzu Khamadi was involved in an accident along the Voi-Taveta highway on Tusday.

The MCA for Mata Ward was travelling with a female company who unfortunately lost her life in the accident.

The police report says the MCA’s vehicle lost control and rolled over several times after knocking down a giraffe that was on the highway at Tsavo West National park.

Khamadi was rushed to the Coast General Hospital for emergency treatment.

The body of the deceased was moved to the Moi Teaching and Referral mortuary in Voi.

Police are conducting further investigations into the accident.
