The late Ronald Bundi’s children are stranded at the Coast General Hospital in Mombasa after their uncle occupied their father’s house and locked them out.

Reports from the late Veronica’s sisters confirmed that Bundi’s brother Dennis Nyambweno locked up the house in an alleged row over the deceased’s properties.

Bundi’s children aged 10 and 3 are now stranded without anywhere to go despite being discharged from the hospital last week.

The children cannot even have a change of clothes because of their uncle’s actions.

“The children have been discharged since last week but we do not know where to go if the door is locked by their father’s brother…so accessing the house is difficult and we cannot even have a change of clothes for the children,” said the children’s aunt.

Nyambweno apparently took control of his late brother’s properties immediately after his burial and abandoned Bundi’s children.

Efforts made by neighbours to reach Nyambweno have proved futile since he keeps ignoring their calls.

Nyambweno acknowledged he indeed has the keys to the house where two other siblings of their’s now occupy however, he denied neglecting his brother’s children.

“I am surprised people are saying I have locked the door yet I open the door daily and there are even people sleeping there,” Nyambweno said.

Nyambweno claimed that he is now the children’s father, therefore would know better if they were discharged.

“How would I fail to know the children are supposed to be back for a neighbour to know the same and ask me about it? I am now the children’s father, I have the keys and there are two of my brothers are sleeping there.

Ronald Bundi, his wife Veronica Bundi and their children were involved in a grisly accident last Christmas Day from which only two children survived albeit with serious injuries.

Bundi, his wife and three of their children were laid to rest on January 7, 2022, while the surviving children were still admitted in hospital nursing their injuries.
