Three criminals have narrowly escaped death by an irate mob in Kinoo, Kiambu County after they robbed a woman of her valuables in Kinoo.

The three musketeers named Topla Muteti, Kelvin Kamau and Eric Karanja, aged between 21 and 22 accosted the woman who was walking home.

They robbed the woman before trying to escape the scene on a getaway motorbike.

The woman raised an alarm that attracted the attention of boda boda riders who were nearby who gave the thugs a chase with over 30 motorbikes.

The boda boda riders caught up with the criminals as they approached stage 87.

Upon realising the mob fast approaching, one criminal jumped off the motorbike and tried to flee the scene, but unfortunately, he miscalculated his move and landed on the tarmac.

The mob that comprised members of the public and boda boda riders descended on the thugs with slaps, blows, kicks and all manner of projectiles. 

The commotion attracted the attention of police officers based at the Kinoo Police Station who arrived at the scene just in time to snatch the lives of the trio from the jaws of death.

Police recovered a homemade firearm on the thugs and had them transferred to a hospital in Wangige where they are currently fighting for their lives.

Police also impounded the motorbike the criminals used as their getaway means as an investigation into their criminal activities was launched.
