The governor for Makueni County Kivutha Kibwana has dropped his presidential bid for the Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga.

Kibwana was speaking during an Azimio la Umoja consultative forum held in Naivasha where 30 governors endorsed Raila’s presidential bid.

Kibwana said he consulted the people of Makueni on Thursday who gave him the green light to support Raila as he was still young.

“I consulted my people in Makueni on Thursday. We had a meeting from the entire county of our leadership and they gave me the go-ahead to support Azimio through Muungano Party and they told me that I have still age on my side and at some future point, I will presume my presidential candidature,” Kibwana said.

Kibwana affirmed he was at peace knowing that Raila will become his next president.

“I’m at peace, knowing that wa tano (the fifth) who will be my president is Raila Amolo Odinga," he added.

The Makueni Governor ditched Kalonzo Musyoka’s Wiper Party where he once served as the party’s chairman and return to his Muungano party in August.

He declared his interest in the presidency back in 2020.
