He was rushed to Tabaka Mission Hospital for treatment after a successful rescue mission.

Ogweno’s colleagues teamed up with local leaders led by the area member of Parliament Paul Abuor to provide excavation equipment for the exercise.

Abour thanked the excavator operators and other people who took part in the rescue mission.

“We thank the excavator operators and other rescuers who worked day and night. I also wish to thank all those who offered us support throughout this operation to save Noah’s life,” Abuor said.

The governor for Migori County Okoth Obado said they were optimistic that they would find Ogweno alive since he was in constant communication with his rescuers.

“We prayed that our equipment gets access to the main tunnel where he was trapped. We were very optimistic and upbeat that we could find him alive because he was communicating with us,” said Obado.

Obado asked stakeholders to support the mining ventures.

The incident comes after another mine accident at Abimbo in Siaya county where another mine collapsed trapping several people.

Seven of them were rescued while one man still remains missing.
