Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi was caught in another standoff at the Wilson Airport on Wednesday.

Sudi was detained albeit briefly, at the airport by its officials after they insisted on scanning his luggage.

The MP was in company of two foreign nationals; controversial former Minister of Natural Resources for Tanzania Lazarus Nyalandu and a British businessman, chairman of the Intercapital Private Group Limited Michael Spencer.

According to sources privy to the incident, Sudi refused to adhere to airport guidelines and insisted on passing through the VIP lounge instead of domestic arrival sections just like other ordinary passengers.

However, the airport officials did not yield to Sudi’s pressure, which lead to the standoff.

The Kapseret legislator gave up and went through the normal passenger arrival procedure, including screening as he was running late for Parliament.

This is the second time Sudi is running into trouble with Wilson Airport officials within the span of six months. 

The first incident happened in August last year when Deputy President William Ruto’s entourage was stopped at the same airport from flying to Uganda in the company of Turkish terror suspect Harun Aydin.
