Ruto spent Tuesday evening with Itumbi in Nairobi West Hospital where he found him bandaged.

The DP said Itumbi’s injuries resulted from torture he allegedly went through in the hands of his abductors who should have protected him instead.

“…the result of torture by people who should have been there to protect him and us all,” he said.

“Spent time with Comrade DI last evening, saw his heavily bandaged arm and legs, the result of torture by people who should have been there to protect him and us all,” Ruto said.

Ruto said Itumbi’s abductors wanted to kill his spirit but he was resilient.

According to the DP, Itumbi’s doctors said the blogger will be confined in bed for a month.

“They wanted to kill his spirit but DI is strong and in very high spirits though doctors say he will be confined to bed for a month,” the DP said.

Ruto encouraged his supporters to be strong bearing in mind that they will defeat their opponents in a few months to come.

He was speaking about the 2022 general elections.

“Like Denis,we all must be strong knowing that in a few months we will defeat impunity, entitlement, kiburi na madharau and free our nation for good,” Ruto said.

Ruto wished Itumbi a quick recovery and reminded him that God is Almighty.

“Pole Dennis. Get well soon. God is the Almighty,” the DP said.

Itumbi was reported missing on Thursday after two unidentified men picked him from a barber shop in Thindigua, Kiambu and he was not seen until late in the night.

He alleged that his abductors were police officers who tortured him before marooning him in Nairobi’s Lucky Summer estate in Kasarani.
