President Donald Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani has tested positive for Covid-19, Trump announced on Sunday.

Trump posted the news on his Twitter account while wishing his lawyer and friend Giuliani a quick recovery from the deadly virus.

CNN reported on Sunday that Giuliani had been admitted to the Georgetown University Hospital in Washington DC.

“@RudyGiuliani, by far the greatest mayor in the history of NYC, and who has been working tirelessly exposing the most corrupt election (by far!) in the history of the USA, has tested positive for the China Virus. Get better soon Rudy, we will carry on!!!” he posted on Twitter.

However, 76-year-old Giuliani has remained tight-lipped on the matter amid concerns over his health given his advanced age that makes him fall under the Coronavirus high risk category.

The Trump aide has been traversing the US spearheading his legal bid to have Democrat President-Elect Joe Biden’s November 3 election nullified.

Giuliani, a former New York mayor, on Thursday attended the Georgia state Senate hearing on the contested poll in Atlanta.

In November, Giuliani's son, Andrew, a White House employee, tested positive for Coronavirus after he attended a media briefing by the Trump campaign legal team together with him in Washington, DC.
