The Speaker of the National Assembly Justin Muturi was hospitalised following a minor accident in his office.

Muturi took to his Twitter account to share news about his predicament.

According to Muturi, he had an accident in his office while trying to pull a drawer when a drawer and his seat slid off the tempered glass chair-mat after which he ended up injuring his right shoulder.

This forced the speaker to seek medical attention and was released to recuperate at home.

“3 weeks ago just before the House went on recess, had a minor accident in the office while trying to pull a drawer&my seat slid off the tempered glass chair-mat where I ended up hurting my right hand shoulder &the back. I sought medical attention&was released to recuperate at home,” Muturi wrote.

However, the pain persisted and on the advice of his doctors, Muturi had to undergo minor surgery on his right shoulder to repair the fracture he suffered during the accident.

“Unfortunately, the pain persisted and on the advice of the doctors, I have undergone a minor surgery on my right hand shoulder to repair the fracture that I suffered then,” Muturi said.

The Speaker indicated he was on the path to recovery and expressed his gratitude to God.

“Grateful to God that I am recuperating well and ebullient,” Muturi said.
